Ben Emery and Neal Podmore

Cheque handing over to treasurer Bill Birch today at westwood rec. Funds raised for the replacement cherry blossum trees and guards on the garden area of the rec. Project funds were raised by the 3 councillors Robert Plant, Ben Emery & Neal Podmore from ccif & mayoral charity pots.

Ben said "I am delighted with the new trees, they look fantastic and show off our green space to the max. People are coming to see the beautiful effects from all the corners of town and take pictures. I saw recently kids showing mum with the pretty pink leaves while their dad took the photo. Heartwarming moment. We are grateful to smdc for there excellent work on this, and for the support and residents for there charity & vigilence in keeping the new trees safe for many years to come."
